i know. it's been two months since i went awol.
i'm here again (i guess)
for the weekly updates.

alot happened.
hari raya was sucky, in a way.
didn't go out during the first day - except for marine parade.
studied law all day long.
wth.

law test passed, third ippt over, shooting is history, bye-bye sbt.
alhamdulillah, i can proudly pat myself at the back
and say well done sahf.
all that's left now is
driving, maintain ippt standard, pass swimming and isbt.
oh ya, and apec too.

oh well, can't wait to march around hta
shouting 'POC-OH!' - in four months time, insyallah.

total strength 23, current strength 14, 9 on mc.
permisson to carry on sir.

yup, you read it right.
NINE are on medical leave, the latest one being my buddy
for a muscle tear - 7 days leave.

last week was tough, even for oh-oh aka abang body.
pt was very demanding and cruel i must say.
not enough recovery time.

butt ached, hamstring strained, tight calves and weak quads.
still do interval training -_-
it weakens the muscle but definitely strengthens the mind.

here's to a better week ahead.
i wish :)

i'm so used to 0500 hours wake up time
now i'm on auto-pilot.
baru ingat nak tido lama-lama sikit.

anyway, hta has been great to me honestly.
nice food at times, great accomodation, wonderful friends.
a pretty oc, firm/lame/fun field instructor.

learn something new every single day in terms of law.
nightly chats with mum, rafi and nur helps the rindu part.
i can't wait for the shooting and scenario-based situations actually
oh, and the free driving lessons :)

i'm back and i'm going again :(
but one thing's for sure, i didn't make the wrong choice
in joining as a regular.

the meals are great and well-balanced.
intructors are strict and friendly at appropriate times.
and i foresee myself enjoying the law classes.

and there are alot of in-between rest times
so rest assured, you're well rested everyday.

and walked around orchard
checked out the yet-to-open ion and orchard central.

had my last training session with total football
and tomorrow's my last game with them.

it's nearly 1 but i can't seem to sleep sia.
sigh... i'm so gonna stuggle in camp with those early ligh outs.
even rafi can't sleep tonight.
maybe he knows i'm going and he'll miss me. yeah right.

anyway, we were bored and were surfing the net just now,
were at youtube and at hanna montana's hoe down throwdown vid.
we actually went through the steps and danced along sia.
pretty hysterical the way i see it.

converted a few songs and and few surahs
more for 'tenangkan hati' during those sleepless nights.

ayte, better get my rest now.
gotta be energized for tomorrow's game against the buffalos.
those white k-leathers are already screaming at me to wear them :)

i'm bald and i love the wind brushing against my... scalp.
ok, seriously, i think i look like an alien la
because i have not-so-proportionate skull.

caught ice age 3 @ west mall.
it was alright for me but i prefer it's prdecessors actually.
maybe it was due to the hunger pangs :)

anyway, i would like to thank the gah-men for my 'birthday gift'
well that 'gift' is gone now after buying all those ns necessities.
oh, talking 'bout ns, i'm done with the shopping.
new specs, t-shirt, shirt, track pants, shorts, singlet
easily made the hole in my pocket bigger sia.

all that's left to do is sign that letter of appointment on monday
and report to hta on tuesday.

eventhough time is obviously a constraint for her.

and maximise my responsibilities to my family, present and future.

but botak. i want to cut my hair botak style
and in approximately one hour, i will do just that.

did a major clear-out of the room yesterday
and re-discovered some childhood treasures/ memories.

pictures that are old as me,
report book from the defunct elling primary,
lost certs from primary and secondary school,
christmas card from henry dated 2005,
joint birthday card from shaun and yvonne dated 2003,
the gift from the khmerians,
'o' levels entry proof and result slip,
lanyards from various events,
a box full of the past 3 years plus :)
and yes, some unused disposable underwear.

went through all my report books
i was such a smart kid, damn it!
how i ended up enrolling in that stupid course, i don't know.
cos as far as i'm concerned, it was a big horrendous fugly mistake
and i should have stayed in meridian jc and chill with wei jian.

well, as a tribute to my childhood,
i've decided to play pokemon all over again.

now excuse me while i train my squirtle to battle brock.

futsal @ fico was a blast.
neither team advanced to the finals
but the bond created yesterday was extraordinary.
having a joker or two in the team doesn't hurt either :)

i'm sure syahidin and syawal will attest to that.

would have been better if syaikhul brought his camera along
cos it was my last tournament with total football.
next week's gonna be my last week training with them
and saturday is gonna be my final match, if i get to play at all.

with the sponsorship(s) coming in and a great coach to boot,
i really think some of them has what it takes
to reach the pinnacle of local football, at least.
but to the rest, if you're reading, enjoy the climb because trust me
this could be THE best time of your lives.

caught the dolphins play against stags
just now at hougang stadium with rafi.
brotherly bond la katekan. haha.

it's rafi's first 'live' local football at the stadium
so yeah, it was an eye-opener for him.
the cursings from the random ah peks, the referee kayu chant,
the cheap tix and the cheap coke at half-time.

it was a draw game - disappointing by tampines' lofty standard.
seng kang was definitely the happier of the two.

and i'm certainly looking forward to our next football match.
this time round, i'm expecting him to contribute to the atmosphere
instead of just soaking it up :)

went to a chinese wedding just now
my first :)
actually, i've worked at a chinese banquet before
but attending one is a whole different ball game.

for one, i don't have to worry about dropping
those huge chinas.
and i don't have to constantly remind myself
to watch my steps.
this time round, all i do is sit, drink and eat.

went with nur (her first too)
and met some of her colleagues there.
felt pretty awkward at first cos that's the first time
i was surrounded by perfect-english-speaking people.

so i talk only when spoken to in order not to embarrass nur
and ultimately, myself. haha.

had a mini celebration yesterday in conjuction
with khalifa's birthday.
two cakes - chocolate and fruit.
and even till now, the latter's sitting in the fridge

had a run with nur the other day
and it's safe to say, we're nowhere near our peak fitness.
haha.

gone were the days of running the bedok reservoir effortlessly
where completion was a duh while timimg was the order of the day.

after around 10 - 15 minutes of light jogging
i was already sweating profusely, vest all soaked.
yes, i admit i was the one with the less determined mind
and i was the one who wanted to call it a day :)

so off we went to do our core at sculpture park, supposedly.
in the end, only nur did it. i was more into irritating her.
haha.
all that nonsense from me while i'm the one who needs it more.

my name is sahfihi and i'm a man utd fan. i've read from various sources that ronaldo
is leaving man utd (good riddance) and even before the deal is finalised,
he's already celebrating it by boning bimbotic paris hilton (of all people).

why you let him go, i don't know. all i can say is, wise choice old man.
his body language towards the end of the season pointed towards the exit of the theatre of dreams and it was as clear as the skies of singapore.

thank you for sparing us months of transfer saga and guess what? you'll receive a cool 80 million pounds for your trouble.
add that to the 20 million transfer kitty you'll receive from the glazers.
which brings me to the main reason why i'm stupidly typing this up - how to spend it.

i know you'll probably laugh if, by any astronomical chance, you read this.
but hey, everyone's got an opinion no matter how ridiculous they may be right?
so here's mine - don't spend.

instead, invest in the youth system and scouting network.
here's why.

1. foster's already an england international.
2. ronaldo the ungrateful biatch, may be gone but rooney's still in carrington working his ass off for the team.
3. the rio-vida combo is the the best in the world and evans is a more-than-able apprentice
4. fabio and rafael could be flying down the wings in the future not only for man utd, but also for the selecáo.
5. anderson and nani have showed glimpses of their talents so far and they are nowhere near their prime, that's the scary part.
6. welbeck and macheda? two words - immense potential.
7. there's also the unknown quality of the reserves, where corry evans (brother of jonny evans) plies his trade. and if i'm not wrong, he's already playing for his country at senior level.
8. same goes for the serbian duo, tosic and ljajic.
9. not forgetting the likes of gibson and possebon where they've made several starts for the team, and duly impressed.

with experienced heads like giggs, scholes and gary neville guiding them along, this crop of players has what it takes to dominate.
i say harness this group of fine individuals instead of splurging on some supposed big names, while continuing the search for the next big thing (you can start by checking out the sons of fandi ahmad).

for sure, 2 or 3 barren years may follow but what's a couple of years compared to a decade or an era of total dominance?

sir alex, if you can polish a raw diamond like ronaldo (who's very difficult at times), i'm pretty sure you'll rub your hands with glee with eyes wide open, if you can see the (less difficult) raw diamonds willing to die for that spot in your first 11.

didn't do much that night.
slacked in the room and watched this stand up comedy
and i laughed till i cried man. seriously hilarious.

till we were all tired and retired for the day.

oh, i killed 3 roaches over two days and with our bahan kacau, khalid.

tidur time.

day 2 was much more fun.
almost all my close cousins were there
with the exception of bukhari, i think.
even ramadan came for awhile but then went awol -_-

started the day by blowing up ballons
and i finally know how to tie one up.

at night,
we bbq-ed. ate like pigs. and slacked.
after the celebration, went to ehub with the intention to bowl
but it was so damn full.
went back to chalet. khalid cried (not gonna touch on that)
played ps2 again, this time with nazri (shikin's bf)

actually us guys were supposed to sleep on the floor
but there was enough room for one more body on the bed
so the winner takes that spot.
played in a league format, and guess who won?
yours truly of course :)

next day, packed up and left the chalet.
at home, slept for the whole damn day la!

over at the bowling cebtre and during bbq.

damn. ankles's busted - again.
this time it's really bad
cos the swelling's up to about 7 cm ABOVE my ankle.
pretty damn bad, actually my worst injury thus far.
and i have a strong feeling that fella did it on purpose.
cos he can't dribble past me. nyehehe.

anyway, game was officially recorded as null and void
eventhough it went on for a good 60 minutes.
why you ask?
cos if you play against 'mat-reps' who are interested
in kicking you instead of the damn ball,
coupled with a bald referee who's biased,
that is what happens.

if you're an avid footie fan,
i'm pretty sure you've heard this question a gazillion times
'how to move singapore football forward?'
i've got an answer to that - finally.
eradicate hooliganism.
play football - i mean really play football
not picking up fights over something very trivial.

cos yesterday, the aftermath of the match was super ugly.
punches were thrown, flying kicks were aplenty.
vulgarities hurled as if prizes would be given out

to the one with the most colourful vocab.

fuh, i'm glad we won't face them anymore.
i really can't imagine how the return fixture would turn out.

anyway, caught monsters vs aliens just now
with sister, rafi and ahmad.
pretty funny the movie.

at the arts house last night.
in a 75 seater room
but only around 15 were there. haha.

and barca just had to spoil the party by winning the game.

every season i watch the epl.
and almost every season man utd wins the trophy.
getting bored i tell you. haha.

anyway, say goodbye to west brom, boro and newcastle.
cos as of next season, they'll be playing against
the likes of peterborough, blackpool and reading.

usually fans will cry their hearts out when
the team they love so much gets relegated.
but newcastle fans, the toon army they call themselves,
amazingly, cheered their team on.
pretty awesome their unwavering support.

for that alone, i hope newcastle boot mike ashley out,
recall kevin keegan with alan shearer as his right-hand man,
retain the services of majority of the squad
and come back up immediately.

of course, man utd will still be sweeping up
every trophy before them :)

KRIS WON!

american idol.

what you're listening to now is his rendition of
the coronation song for AI 8 - no boundaries.

as much as he deserved to win,
i can't help but think that a certain mr gokey
would have nicked the title if he was in the final.

simply because this song screams for a singer
who can carry those high, long notes
not scream and shrill like adam.
even the judges thought that
kris shouldn't be judged on this song.

and if you did follow the whole season of AI 8
danny was the contestant, when he reached those high notes...
made my skin crawl. it gave me goosebumps.
the soul of his voice would really bring it home.

but then again, credits to kris for winning.
his interpretation of songs like, to name some,
ain't no sunshine, heartless, man in the mirror
really made him a worthy winner.

he certainly provided me
with the most touching moment this season
when he hugged his wife after the result was announced.

and he certainly taught me one thing ~

today was fun. headed out with nur to geylang.
the plan was to have breakfast and then karaoke
before i head to training and she head home.

breakfast was shared cos we aren't really big eaters
but it was delicious though.
after mamam-ing, went to shop at this store
where they played only pusherbacekek's song.
damn irritating la, stuck stuck some more.

then headed to grandlink to call the rain
but god knew our intention so it didn't happen
cos according to the auntie, 'computer spoilt'
ape-ape aje la eh.

so train-ed to town and planned to catch a movie
but no great movies were out yet
so we took some photos with eos
(didn't know i could be bitchy)
hahaha.

so yeah, solat at al-falah and then we separated.
i went to farrer park and was the first to arrive
and i thought i was late -_-
sempat asar kat anggulia lagi.

coach came later than usual cos he had some stuff
to attend to.
and someone was caught red-handed lying to him
he looked pissed, disappointed, angry
all rolled into one.

i totally understand why he felt that way
cos after all, he VOLUNTARILY coached the team.
not only that, he PAYS for tournaments and jerseys.
not to mention the countless TREATS he had given.

for me, as long as i am not injured or sick,
i'll train.
cos that's the least i could do

for a football-loving man, like coach tohari.

too much football over the last few weeks ah i think
so no training for today but on wednesday,

on saturday went to teck whye before soccer to visit

one's so quiet while the other's so chatty
but both are so adorable.
so adorable that they make me wanna have kids when i get married.

and i'm so excited for the future!
knowing that i'm on the verge of having a steady permanent job

can't wait till i'm 25 though. hehe.

alright, had a game on saturday - won seven to nothing.
boring game actually but made a mistake and was subbed
during the second half.

and had a game, again, on sunday with read madras.
we were up against this group of viets to whom we lost
the last time round with a score of 5 - 1.
there was no repeat of that score line this time round
as we earned a creditable 2 - 2 draw after being 2 goals down.

the amazing thing was we played the whole game with only 12 men
while the had a total strength of 20 to call upon.
definitely we were fitter now compared to then :)
khalid tagged along and took some photos of the game.

cos after gathering info from appropriate people,
i found out that life as a PO is very much time-consuming.
the working hours, the extra hours, the sleeping day...

maybe once a month i'd manage to sneak in a game or two
but other than that, the only soccer i'm gonna get
is from bpl or chasing youngsters playing football.

and i've not even touched on family and gf.

anyway, we won the game 5-3 just now
and syaikhul was lobbed yet again.
i know i sound bad, but i seek enjoyment in watching those goals
cos it exposes his height, or lack of it.

i feel for kieran gibbs.
he was arse-nal best outfield player during the first leg

same goes for darren fletcher.
he's a real warrior for the devils this season
but he's gonna miss the final
thanks to an ill-deserved red card

i didn't plan to catch chelski vs liverfool
until yu hui called me.

because usually matches between these two teams
are drab affairs, with each team
trying to cancel each other out.

usually in tight affairs like this,

but my word! last night's game had almost everything la.
from error prone goalkeepers
to unsavable shots
from mistake-laden defence to

last night's game deserved two thumbs

under tohari pajian.
interesting guy - very verbal and funny.

he reminds me of coach nassarudin back at tp
the way he emphasised simple passing football,

asked whether i was interested in joining after training

at that that time skps had no proper field
as we were at a make-shift school

so we had our trials at this public field
around that area.
i was pudgy sahfihi at that time
running was a torture man

which ended prematurely - competitively that is.

alright class. today i wanna teach a new word.

for definition, please read below.

ended class early today, so went to the gym
planned on working on my deltoids.
started working out, feeling pretty pumped up.
suddenly outta of nowhere i saw this girl
at the pull-up bar.
i thought 'macam faham je si pompan ni'
as if she heard me, she jumped up and hung onto the bar
wanting to prove me wrong
and i thought that was as far as she could go.

but nooooooo, she pulled herself up effortlessly
1, 2, 3, 4.... 11!
FREAKING 11 TIMES!
she would be getting 5 points in NAPFA. just like that.
already stunned, i went out to take a sip of water
my eyes stealthily trained on her
wondering what'll she do next.

at this point in time, we the guys in the gym
lost interest in our workouts
and were anticipating her next move.
again, as if she knew the attention was on her
jumped up to the bar
and DID FREAKING 11 MORE!

after a sip of water and a trip to the toilet
SHE DID 11 MORE!
at this juncture, my ego was so bruised
how not to be?! 3 sets of 11 reps each sia.
i stepped outta the gym, changed, and went home
tail in between my legs.

won the best motion piture at the recently-concluded oscars
it's only due in mid february right here

so i scoured for it online
and got it at an old trusty website
so spent two hours of my friday afternoon watching it.

great plot;
great directing;
great movie.

last weekend cousins stayed over at my crib.
as usual we had our late night jogging sessions (did we?)
and late night prata
we decided to do a sequel to our first videos
you know, just to measure up whether we improved
or otherwise

before every singing session, there's always the warm up right?
here's mine :)

and syaikhul decided to come outta his closet
with regards to his sexuality of course
and i couldn't resist him

and finally while waiting for taufik to be ready
khalid realised that his teeth outshine ours
i realised my nose was as flat as ___________
(fill in the blank yourself)
and Abang Body thinks he's Hulk Hogan (not yet la mat rep!)

first song, kau ilhamku by manbai.

second was nadya. we did two versions.
the first was so impromptu by khalid
and the second was planned by khalid
we just followed along and here's the result :)
but i've got one thing to say - KHALID GELOJOH NAK MAMPOS!

third was dambaan. my personal favourite.

we decided to sing an english song for the last one.
naturally, being the mat jiwangs that we are
we chose always be my baby by AI 7 winner, david masak.
NOTE: THE WORD IS 'INEVITABLY'

so how? improved? SO NOT!
but taufik has the most decent voice
so i'd like to give him the coveted title 'Abang Voice'

hi all :)
yeah, blog's ain't dead yet. just sleeping.
anyway, it's been awhile since i updated
but it'll be a short one for now.

alot of things happened since the last update.
it's been like what? a month ago? yeah, one month.

to write down every single detail would be juat plain crazy
but here are the important ones - as far as i can remember

~ had FM 2009 installed and i'm addicted to it
~ discovered IDM and it's wonders :)
~ a first: i'm wearing a ring now
~ lost my beloved casio watch (and sm's ain't really happy 'bout it)
~ another first: prince of darkness went out with snow white - AT LAST!

so yeah, that's it for now. oh wait. RESOLUTIONS!
for 2009, i promise i'll TRY to be a good boy :)

Dear all

I might not have gone into further details of this termination, but should you need to know what exactly happen, please read below:

GR8moments have integrated with Singapore Flyer directly hence all Singapore Flyers’ staff will be fully trained in all aspects of job scopes within Singapore Flyer. GR8moments will no longer be in charge of any deployment of staffs to work at Singapore Flyer with immediate effect.

I understand this is very sudden as this stuck me in a shock too. However, I really hope to get all of your understanding in this is a decision made by GR8moments.

Do feel free to approach me should you require any other jobs and I will try my very best to help you out.

I will need to invite all of you to come by my office next week to endorse on the Termination Notice and to return all uniforms and other belongings of GR8moments to Manpower.

I really enjoyed working with all of you all these while.
